We use African Oak for our Wooden Door Knobs, which is extremely strong and hard wearing with unique wood turning properties which enables us to produce fine, intricate designs. All of our wooden knobs are made in our own workshop in Botswana, enabling us to work solely to our own high standards. This has earnt us our reputation for producing the most accurate, quality door handles.
The mechanics of our handles and spindles are made exactly the same way as the originals, being threaded one end and broached (square) the other, as this stops the dangerous scenario of the handle ever failing.
Wood is natural and organic and therefore some cracks may occur but this does not affect the structure and inherent strength of the handle. Every door handle that we make is a faithful copy of an original and each one is carefully polished and aged to replicate old, period door furniture. Our aim is for our door knobs to look as if they have been part of your home for decades, slightly worn, giving each piece a wonderful patina of use and age.
All of our door knobs are available with brass or nickel inserts and back plates.
